3Is Art

Twineham Church of England Primary School

Intention

At Twineham Church of England Primary School, our Art curriculum aims to nurture creativity and self-expression in our students. We intend to:
  • Inspire pupils to explore various artistic techniques, materials, and processes.
  • Foster an understanding of how art connects to culture, history, and the world around them.
  • Build confidence in pupils to experiment and create original artwork, developing their own artistic voice.
Our intention is for every child to develop a lifelong love of art and to appreciate the value of creativity in everyday life.
Implementation

We use AccessArt to deliver a dynamic and progressive Art curriculum, where pupils explore key concepts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media. Each lesson encourages creative thinking, skill-building, and reflection.
Teachers ensure that learning is tailored to the needs of each student and that all activities are aligned with the National Curriculum. Art projects are often linked to other subjects, enriching the learning experience and allowing pupils to see the relevance of art in different contexts.

Impact

By the end of their time at Twineham, pupils will:
  • Have developed a diverse portfolio of artwork that reflects their creative journey and individual expression.
  • Be able to explain the techniques and concepts they have learned and apply them confidently in new artistic endeavours.
  • Show an appreciation for art from different cultures and historical periods.
  • Leave with the ability to articulate their creative ideas and demonstrate resilience and problem-solving in their artistic practice.
